3D has self-performed the majority of work in construction and rehabilitation of water and wastewater treatment facilities. Today, our solid experience is more important than ever as a result of a rapidly aging infrastructure and more stringent regulatory requirements.
3D is very familiar with the challenges of water and wastewater treatment plant construction; in fact, it's one of our core competencies. Our experience in dealing with large volume flows, large basin construction, phasing of construction, complex electrical, instrumentation and process equipment systems and architecturally complex buildings is second to none.
We've successfully constructed state-of-the-art water and wastewater treatment facilities that required a vast amount of expertise, skill and coordination. In one such project, many of the plant's administrative buildings were over 10,000 square feet of floor space with additional chemical facilities that also exceeded 10,000 square feet under roof.
In today's era of sustainability, wastewater facility construction is good for the community, good for the environment, and good for the people. Trust 3D to successfully manage and control project costs, schedule and construction quality.
Our wastewater treatment facility construction projects required pipelines as large as 84 inches in diameter — big enough for some of the tallest NBA basketball players to walk through. A storage tank with 20 million gallons of capacity and water basins larger than football fields make for complex and challenging engagements.
3D's people designed, installed and operated a 24/7 pump-around system with flow capacities of 30 million gallons per day with redundancies. This system operated for months.
